We've managed to give out several sacks of rice, canned goods, noodles and other immediate needs for the people affected by the floods in Iligan City caused by Typhoon Sendong. Thank you Yvonne Gardose and family for reaching out in behalf of Handog Natin. These goods were delivered in time and were distributed equally to these needy people.
August 2010
We are pleased to announce our very successful project for this year!
Handog
Natin Charity Organization was able to conduct the “ Anti-Malaria” Campaign Medical
Mission and
Outreach Program for the ‘Mangyan’ Tribe from Sitio Niogan San Vicente, Abra- de- Ilog,
Occidental Mindoro last July 2010 through the coordinated efforts from the Tribe’s
Missionary
leaders Daniel and Michelle Bas, medical volunteers and Handog Natin’s very own, Abel
and Iris
Lim and Mrs Aurora ‘Baby’ Lopez and friends.
We were able to purchase anti-malarial medicines and kits, antibiotics and others meds
that are
essential to the Tribe’s need. Malaria blood-testing and check ups were conducted at the
site
and a hundred “kulambo at kumot” (mosquito nets and blankets) were given away along with
hundreds of canned sardines and noodles. We hope that through this event, we can help
minimize
the prevalence of Malaria outbreaks in this area and provide them with more information
and
precautions.
Handog Natin would like to thank all those who made this project a success and we encourage
everyone to partake in this organization and help our “kababayans” (countrymen) back home
through these programs.
For those interested in joining us, kindly visit our donation page or alternatively contact/
email us through this website for further information.
December 2009
The community of Tumana, Marikina, Metro Manila was the most affected
area
from the flooding by Typhoon Ketsana (local name: Ondoy) which rendered thousands of
families homeless. Our Charity were able to send several boxes of used clothing, shoes,
toys
and canned food from kind hearted people mostly from the West Midlands, UK who responded
to
our plea. Apart from these, each family were also handed bags of rice, coffee, noodles
and
tin sardines by our volunteers headed by Mrs. Leonora Cortez and Mrs. Esther Tolentino.
We
would like to thank all those who helped out in making this possible. Special thanks
goes to
the Nursing Practice Facilitators, Staff from Theatres, Wards 1, 2 & 3 of the University
Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire, Dawson, Kho & Surrey family, staff from Evedale
Nursing
Home ,Claire Oliver, Samantha Lennox, Mary Roach and colleagues and Mr. Patrick Cowley
(Isle
of Man) for their generous donations. The people in this community are undergoing
rehabilitations and mostly were relocated to safer grounds. They have conveyed their
utmost
appreciations and are very thankful to your gestures.
Another place where donated goods were distributed was during the Lord’s Flock Charismatic Community’s Christmas party in Quezon City, Philippines. The less fortunate members and victims of the flood from Barrio (village) Culiat area were treated with a market-style theme and were given used clothing, shoes, toys and tin food of their choices.
